Located in the Hawthorne district of Southeast Portland, Poke Mon is a casual restaurant serving classic Hawaiian poke.

We are committed to using fresh and responsibly-sourced ingredients. Our signature poke bowls feature sashimi-grade Bigeye Ahi from Hawaii and sustainable, locally-caught fish whenever possible. Every bowl is made to order, with seasonal produce, Japanese koshihikari rice, and ingredients from local businesses like Choi’s Kimchi and Ota Tofu.

Chef Series

We are proud to introduce our new Poke Mon Chef Series! Playful collaborations with Portland's most talented chefs and their poke creations! Each chef's special will be featured for the entire calendar month. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a charity of the chef's choice.

July: Chef Kyo Koo of Danwei Canting

Born and raised in Oregon, Chef Kyo Koo has tasted what Portland has to offer. After teaming up with partner James Kyle, Kyo took the opportunity to bring a new perspective on Chinese cuisine that the town has seemed to be missing.. Cue in Danwei Canting!

Kyo Koo can be viewed as a true contributor to Portland’s growing reputation as a cultural mecca. From Los Angeles to Spain, Seattle to Beijing, Chef Kyo Koo has hopped oceans in order to fully immerse himself in his studies of different regional cuisines. From such endeavors, Kyo has been able to develop and solidify a deep appreciation for the food of his travels before constructing heartily representative menus of his own.

We are pleased to represent a small reflection of Chef Kyo Koo’s array of rich experiences with our August Chef Series Poke Bowl:
